THE GENESIS BOOK

Collector’s Edition Preorder Campaign Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: November 6, 2026
Book Title: The Genesis Book

These Preorder Campaign Terms and Conditions ("Campaign Terms") govern purchases made through the preorder campaign for the book identified above (the "Campaign"). The Campaign is offered by BTC Inc. ("BTC," "we," "us," or "our") at https://store.bitcoinmagazine.com/pages/the-genesis-book-3rd-anniversary.

By placing an order, you agree to these Campaign Terms and to the BTC Terms of Service at https://www.b.tc/terms (the "General Terms"), which are incorporated by reference. These Campaign Terms are Supplemental Terms under the General Terms. In the event of conflict between these Terms and the BTC Terms of Service, these Campaign Terms shall govern.

This is a conditional preorder. The Collector’s Edition and other funding-dependent physical items will be produced and fulfilled only if the Funding Condition in Section 2 is met or BTC elects to proceed under Section 7(b). The Digital Package included in a package is an independent, unconditional component and will be delivered as provided in Section 8 regardless of whether the Funding Condition is met. Books are scheduled to ship during calendar year 2027. Except as expressly provided below or required by law, you may not cancel your order once BTC accepts it. Please review Section 14 and the dispute-resolution provisions of the General Terms, which require individual arbitration and waive class actions and jury trials.

1.The Collector’s Edition

(a) Edition size. The signed/numbered slipcase edition (the "Collector’s Edition") is limited to 333 signed and numbered copies:

  • 331 copies numbered 2 through 20 and 22 through 333, offered alone and in Campaign packages, including packages that include The Digital Package ("Collector’s Copies");
  • Copy #1, offered separately at its listed fixed price; and
  • Copy #21, offered separately at its listed fixed price.

(b) No additional signed/numbered copies. BTC will not produce, number, or sell any Collector’s Edition copies beyond these 333.

(c) Non-sale copies. BTC may produce additional unnumbered copies marked "[Not for Sale / Hors Commerce]." These copies are for legal deposit (including Library of Congress deposit), archival, author, and review purposes. They are not part of the 333 numbered copies and will not be offered for sale by BTC.

(d) Number assignment. Collector’s Copy numbers will be assigned in order of purchase. No particular number is guaranteed unless the purchased listing expressly identifies one.

2.Funding Condition and Campaign Deadline

(a) Funding Condition. The Campaign is successfully funded ("Successful Funding") only if BTC receives full payment for all 331 Collector’s Copies on or before January 3rd, 2026 at 12 AM EST (the "Campaign Deadline"). This requirement is the "Funding Condition."

(b) Counting rules. Each Collector’s Copy counts once toward the Funding Condition, whether it is purchased alone or in a package that includes The Digital Package. The following do not count when Successful Funding is determined:

  • unpaid, refunded, canceled, fraudulent, or reversed transactions; and
  • purchases of Copies #1 and #21.

Copies #1 and #21 do not substitute for any Collector’s Copy, and their sale is not required for Successful Funding. The Funding Condition is measured by qualifying copies sold, not by total revenue.

(c) Sell-out. Successful Funding occurs when BTC receives the 331st qualifying payment, even if this happens before the Campaign Deadline. Collector’s Copy sales through the Campaign will then close.

(d) Released copies. If an order for a Collector’s Copy is canceled, refunded, or reversed before Successful Funding, BTC may offer that copy for sale again.

(e) Oversell. If the number of accepted or pending orders exceeds the available copies, any order that cannot be allocated a copy will be canceled. That order will be refunded in full under Section 7.

(f) Progress indicators. Any sales counter or progress display is informational only. Successful Funding is determined by BTC's verification of qualifying payments. Verification does not extend the Campaign Deadline, and payments received after the deadline do not count.

(g) Deadline Extension. BTC may extend the Campaign Deadline once, by no more than thirty (30) days, by giving notice to all purchasers by email and posting on the Campaign page before the original Campaign Deadline.

3.Orders, Payment, and Acceptance

(a) Conditional and unconditional components. Each order is a preorder for the items expressly identified in the selected package. BTC’s obligation to produce and fulfill the Collector’s Edition and any other funding-dependent physical items is conditioned on Successful Funding or BTC’s election to proceed under Section 7(b). The Digital Package is an independent, unconditional component of any package in which it is expressly included and is delivered under Section 8 regardless of whether Successful Funding occurs.

(b) Payment. Unless checkout expressly states otherwise, payment is due in full at checkout through the payment methods offered. If any amount is scheduled to be charged after checkout, you must maintain a valid payment method and authorize BTC to collect that amount when due under the checkout terms.

(c) Acceptance. After your payment clears, BTC will send an order acceptance notice. That notice is BTC's acceptance of your order under General Terms §7(f) and forms a binding contract between you and BTC, subject to the Funding Condition. The following do not constitute acceptance or a qualifying sale:

  • an order acknowledgment sent before payment clears;
  • a payment authorization; or
  • a pending payment.

Acceptance of your order does not confirm Successful Funding.

(d) Eligibility. To purchase, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live;
  • have a billing and shipping address in a country selectable at checkout; and
  • satisfy the export-control requirements of General Terms §26.

(e) Accurate and current information. You must provide accurate and complete payment, contact, and delivery information and keep that information current through fulfillment. You are responsible for updating your email address, shipping address, and any other information reasonably required for delivery before the applicable item is shipped or issued. BTC is not responsible for nonreceipt, return-to-sender, delay, or additional delivery costs caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information supplied by you, subject to applicable law. You are responsible for reasonable reshipment or redelivery charges resulting from your failure to keep that information current.

(f) Rejection or cancellation by BTC. BTC may reject or cancel an order as permitted by the General Terms and applicable law. If BTC rejects or cancels an entire order before physical fulfillment, you will receive a full refund under Section 7.

(g) Price protection. Notwithstanding General Terms §7(h), BTC will not charge you more than the price stated in your order acceptance notice without your express consent. If you decline to consent, BTC may cancel your order and will issue a full refund.

(h) Not an investment. Campaign purchases are purchases of products and any expressly included services. You are a customer, not an investor or backer. Your purchase gives you no equity, revenue share, profit participation, or other financial interest in BTC, its affiliates, the book, or the Campaign.

(i) Transfers. Orders may not be transferred before shipment without BTC's written consent. You may, however, designate a gift recipient's shipping address.

4.Prices, Shipping Charges, and Taxes

(a) Price. The package price is the price disclosed when you place your order.

(b) Shipping. Shipping is not included in the package price. Shipping charges are calculated by delivery location and are itemized and collected at checkout under General Terms §7(c). BTC will not collect additional shipping charges later, except charges for a redelivery or address change that you request. Any such charge will be disclosed to you and requires your authorization before it is collected.

(c) Taxes. Applicable taxes are itemized and collected at checkout. Where a package combines a Collector’s Edition, other physical items, and The Digital Package, BTC may allocate the package price among those components for tax and refund purposes as applicable law permits. If any portion of an order is refunded, taxes attributable to the refunded portion will also be refunded or adjusted as required by applicable law.

(d) Duties. For international shipments, import duties, customs fees, and similar charges are your responsibility unless checkout states otherwise. The carrier may collect these charges on delivery.

5.No Voluntary Cancellation

Once BTC accepts your order, you may not cancel or withdraw it, whether before or after Successful Funding, except as these Campaign Terms expressly provide (including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 12) or as applicable law requires. The Digital Package is an independent component and is not cancelable merely because the Funding Condition is not met.

The conditional nature of the Campaign does not give you a right to withdraw while funding is pending. If the Funding Condition is not met and BTC does not elect to proceed under Section 7(b), the funding-dependent physical portion of your order will be canceled and refunded under Section 7; any Digital Package included in your package remains valid and is not canceled solely because the Campaign was unsuccessful.

6.Successful Funding; Final Sale

(a) Notice. BTC will verify qualifying payments and notify purchasers when Successful Funding is confirmed or when BTC elects to proceed under Section 7(b).

(b) Final sale. Upon Successful Funding, or upon BTC’s election to proceed under Section 7(b), the funding-dependent physical portion of accepted Campaign orders becomes final and nonrefundable, subject to Sections 6(c), 9, 10, and applicable law. The Digital Package is an independent component and is governed by Section 8 and the applicable General Terms regardless of Campaign funding status. No refund or cancellation is available merely because of:

  • a change of mind;
  • any other personal circumstance.

(c) Exceptions. Section 6(b) does not limit:

  • refunds expressly provided in these Campaign Terms;
  • remedies for defective or misdescribed products under General Terms §7(i); or
  • rights required by applicable law, including rights arising from shipping delays or nonfulfillment.

(d) Funding is not reversed. Once Successful Funding is confirmed, a later refund, reversal, or chargeback on another purchaser's order does not make the Campaign unsuccessful.

7.Unsuccessful Campaign; Refund Procedures

(a) Unsuccessful Campaign. If the Funding Condition is not met by the Campaign Deadline and BTC does not elect to proceed under Section 7(b), BTC will cancel the funding-dependent physical portion of accepted Campaign orders and notify purchasers. The Digital Package is not canceled solely because the Funding Condition was not met.

(b) Election to Proceed. Within ten (10) business days after the Campaign Deadline, BTC may elect by notice to all purchasers to proceed with production even though the Funding Condition was not met. If BTC makes this election:

  • the funding-dependent physical portion of all accepted orders, including orders for Copies #1 and #21 and packages that also include The Digital Package, becomes final and nonrefundable as if Successful Funding had occurred, and Section 6 applies to that portion;
  • The Digital Package remains governed by Section 8 and is unaffected by the election; and
  • unsold Collector’s Copies remain within the 333-copy limit. BTC may continue to offer them for sale after the election, and BTC will not number or sell any Collector’s Copies beyond that limit.

If BTC does not give notice of the election within that period, Section 7(a) applies, and BTC will issue the partial refunds required by Section 7(c).

(c) Scope of refund. If Section 7(a) applies, BTC will refund the amounts collected for the funding-dependent physical portion of the order that will not be fulfilled, together with shipping charges attributable to that unfulfilled physical portion and taxes attributable to the refunded amounts. BTC may retain only the Component Value of the Digital Package you keep. "Component Value" means $9.99 for the Digital Package. It will not exceed the share of the package price reasonably allocable to that component after any package discount. BTC will not deduct processing fees or cancellation fees. No refund request is required.

(d) Timing and method. BTC will issue refunds within the time required by applicable law after the end of the election period in Section 7(b) (or after any other cancellation date that applies), or within any shorter period required by law. Refunds are made to the original payment method where supported. If that method is unavailable, BTC will use another lawful method. BTC will not substitute store credit for a monetary refund unless you agree. Your payment provider may take additional time to post the credit.

(e) Digital-asset payments. For bitcoin or other digital-asset payments, the refund is based on the original U.S. dollar purchase amount under General Terms §7(k). You are not entitled to any appreciation in the value of the asset you used, or necessarily to the same quantity of that asset.

  • BTC will request a refund address. Refunds will be issued within the time required by applicable law after BTC receives a valid address.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the address you provide.
  • If BTC cannot complete a refund after reasonable efforts, the funds will be handled in accordance with applicable unclaimed-property law and will not be forfeited to BTC.

(f) Effect on Digital Package. A refund under this Section does not void or cancel the Digital Package retained as an independent package component. That item remains subject to Section 8. If BTC separately cannot provide an independent component that has been paid for, the applicable refund or remedy will be determined under these Campaign Terms, the General Terms, and applicable law.

(g) Priority over the General Terms. This Section controls over any conflicting final-sale or no-refund provision of the General Terms, including §§7(i), 9(c), and 10(c).

8.Package Contents and Digital Package

(a) Package contents. You are entitled only to the products, The Digital Package, and benefits expressly identified in your purchased listing. No other items or benefits are implied.

(b) Definition. “Digital Package” means the electronic files or digital content described in your listing, including ebooks, digital editions, audiobooks, and other audio editions. Unless the listing expressly identifies a token or blockchain-based asset, Digital Packages are not tokens or blockchain-based assets, and General Terms §9(b) (wallet and delivery requirements) and §9(e) (assumption of risk) do not apply to them.

(c) Delivery and independence from funding. The Digital Package will be delivered by email or other electronic means promptly after your payment clears [target: within [24] hours], whether or not Successful Funding has been confirmed. The Digital Package is an independent, unconditional package component. Delivery does not establish Successful Funding, and BTC will not cancel or refund the Digital Package solely because the Funding Condition is not met. If Section 7(a) applies, BTC may retain the stated standalone value or stated package component value of the Digital Package as provided in Section 7(c), subject to applicable law.

(d) License. Unless your listing states otherwise, the Digital Package is licensed to you for personal, noncommercial use. They may not be redistributed, resold, or publicly shared. No intellectual-property ownership is transferred to you.

(e) Inventory. All Campaign packages that include a Collector’s Copy, whether sold alone or with The Digital Package, draw from the same 331 Collector’s Copies. Copies #1 and #21 are allocated separately.

9.Physical Fulfillment and Shipping Delays

(a) Shipping window. If the Campaign achieves Successful Funding or BTC elects to proceed under Section 7(b), the Collector’s Edition and other funding-dependent physical items are scheduled to ship during calendar year 2027. Other physical items in a package will ship with the book unless the applicable listing states otherwise. The Digital Package is delivered separately. “Ship” means dispatch to the carrier. Transit and customs times will vary.

(b) Delays. If BTC cannot ship within the stated window, or within any other shipping time BTC expressly promised for your order, BTC will notify you before that time expires. The notice will include a revised shipping date.

(c) Address changes and risk of loss. You must keep your shipping and contact information current through shipment and notify BTC of any change before the applicable item ships. Risk of loss passes to you as provided in General Terms §7(g). Other shipping and delivery matters are governed by the General Terms, subject to these Campaign Terms and applicable law.

10.Cancellation or Nonfulfillment by BTC

(a) Cancellation of funding-dependent physical fulfillment. If BTC cancels the Campaign or otherwise cancels the funding-dependent physical portion of accepted orders before physical fulfillment, including after Successful Funding, BTC will refund the amounts paid for the unfulfilled funding-dependent physical portion, together with shipping charges attributable to that portion and taxes attributable to the refunded amounts. The Digital Package is not canceled solely because physical fulfillment is canceled and remains governed by Section 8.

(b) Inability to fulfill a particular order. If BTC cannot fulfill a particular purchaser’s Collector’s Edition or other funding-dependent physical items, BTC will notify that purchaser and refund the amounts paid for the unfulfilled funding-dependent physical portion, including shipping charges attributable to that portion and taxes attributable to the refunded amounts. The Digital Package that has been delivered or remains valid is not canceled by that refund, and BTC may retain its stated standalone value or stated package component value, subject to applicable law. If BTC separately cannot provide an independent Digital Item, the applicable refund or remedy will be determined under these Campaign Terms, the General Terms, and applicable law.

(c) No substitution. BTC will not substitute a materially different edition or package without your agreement.

(d) Relationship to final sale. This Section is not limited by Section 6. Packages already delivered, defective or misdescribed goods, and other nonfulfillment remain subject to the General Terms and applicable law.

11.Premium Edition

BTC will offer a separate edition of the book (the “Premium Edition”) throughout the Campaign at a standalone price of $160. Fulfillment of Premium Edition orders is contingent on Successful Funding through qualifying sales of the Collector’s Copies or BTC’s election to proceed under Section 7(b). Premium Edition purchases do not count toward the Funding Condition.

If the Funding Condition is not met by the Campaign Deadline and BTC does not elect to proceed under Section 7(b), BTC will cancel and refund the physical portion of Premium Edition orders pursuant to Sections 7(c)–(f). Any Digital Package included in a Premium Edition package remains an independent, unconditional component governed by Section 8.

The Premium Edition will not be signed or numbered, will not include the slipcase, and is not part of the Collector’s Edition. Shipping is additional. Contents and charges will be disclosed in the relevant listing.

12.Purchasers Outside the United States

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction that grants a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation, and you wish to withdraw your preorder, contact us immediately at store@btcmedia.org.

13.Applicable Terms; Conflicts; Changes

(a) Dispute resolution. The General Terms contain:

  • limitations of liability (§20);
  • informal dispute resolution and individual arbitration, with class-action and jury-trial waivers (§22);
  • an arbitration opt-out right, exercisable within 30 days after you first accept a version of the General Terms (§22(j)); and
  • Delaware governing law (§23).

Please review these provisions before ordering.

(b) Protection of existing orders. This Section applies notwithstanding the modification provisions of the General Terms. For any order BTC has already accepted, no change to these Campaign Terms or to the General Terms will, without your express consent:

  • reduce your refund;
  • change the Funding Condition or the Campaign Deadline (except under Section 2(g)). BTC's election to proceed under Section 7(b) is not a change to the Funding Condition;
  • change your package contents; or
  • change your price.

(c) Non-excludable rights. Nothing in these Campaign Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

(d) Section references. References to a "Section" mean a section of these Campaign Terms. References to "General Terms §" mean a section of the General Terms.

14.Notices and Contact

BTC will send Campaign notices, funding confirmations, delivery information, and refund communications to the email address provided with your order. Notices are effective when sent. You are responsible for keeping your email, contact, payment information (to the extent any later charge remains due), and shipping information current through fulfillment and for checking your spam or junk folders.
